About Jennine

Jennine graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Chemistry then obtained a Master of Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Organometallocene Chemistry. Jennine graduated with a Master of Science in Herbal Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health formerly known as Tai Sophia Institute (June 2012), where she specialized in herbal medicine with an emphasis on diabetes, metabolism and endocrine wellness. Some of her herbal medicine professors have included James A Duke, Kathleem Maier, James Snow, Bevin Clare, Camille Freeman, Andrew Pengelly, Simon Mills, Rosemary Gladstar, Paul Bergner, Sara Eisenburg, Jillian Borchard, and Kevin Spelman.
Jennine has a love of plants, trees and natural landscapes and a great respect for conservation of resources and preservation for future generations. She used to shadow her grandfather, a medical doctor, as a child and her compassion for others and interest in wellness practices has not waivered. Jennine has successfully worked with clients having a range of health challenges such as GERD, lyme disease, depression, anxiety and diabetes.

Jennine believes that herbal medicine is a good adjunct with many different types of therapies but does not prescribe to the “silver bullet” style of herbalism, which is similar to drug prescription, providing one herb for one symptom or disease. Jennine believes that many diseases can manifest from a variety of underlying causes and without finding the deeper underlying cause, clients will be playing herbal “whack a mole”. Jennine works with the client on dietary, lifestyle and herbal formulations that are customized to each individual because we are unique and one size does not fit all. Jennine consciously works with her clients within their budget.

Jennine is trained in Western herbalism which includes Eclectic and Physiomedical herbal systems and is well versed in both Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine systems. Jennine understands contemporary medical and phytochemical research based on new and traditional uses of plants and plant extracts.

Jennine is a member of the American Herbalists Guild, American Society for Nutrition, American Physiological Society, American Endocrinology Society, American Chemical Society and United Plant Savers.
Jennine uses organic or responsibly wildcrafted plant materials and works with responsible vitamin and supplement suppliers such as Innate Response vitamins, Pure Encapsulations, HerbPharm, Standard Process and MediHerb. Jennine creates unique herbal teas, herbal lip balms, herbal muscle soaks, and herbal shampoos. Recent examples are chamomile and nettle shampoo, mint bath soak salts, lavender infused hair oil, and mint lip balm.
